I awoke in the basement of my house. My whole head was throbbing in pain, I couldnt even open my mouth it hurt so bad. I sat up straighter even though my whole body was screaming at me to just lay there forever and never move again. Shivering I brought my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. I rocked back and forth like I did as a kid when I was scared. I couldn't remember much from that night, mostly it was just a big, angry, violent blur. I sighed deeply, my breathing was still very shaking. I closed my eyes for a moment and opened them letting my vision adjust to everything. I started to get up slowly, I had learned the hard way of trying to get up too fast in past expericences. Finally I was standing, resting most of my weight on the wall I was leaning on with my left arm. I listened for movement upstairs, waited a moment just to make sure and then started to make my way up to the kitchen.
I reached the top of the stairs and slowly creaked the door open, poking my head out slightly I looked around. I decided it was fairly safe and went into the kitchen. I grabbed a clean dish cloth and put some ice in it and then walked to the living room, which was the next room over. I sat on the couch and pressed the cloth against the right side of my face.
"Shit!" I muttered, it hurt like fucking hell. My eyes welled up with tears and I closed them tightly, wincing. Trying to stay strong I opened my eyes as a few tear drops escaped my eyes. I sat there for a while, just watching t.v. and waited for Brent to be home. I figured if I stayed home today he would know I wasn't cheating on him.
A few hours passed and Brent was due to be home any minute. But after a half hour passed the time of when he was supposed to be home, I got worried. I panicked and called a few of his friends hoping they knew where he was. No such luck there, I paced in the kitchen and kept frantically looking outside. Suddenly a car pulled into our driveway but it wasn't Brent's car. I walked closer to the door and tried to see who it was. I gasped when I saw it was my ex boyfriend, Blaire!
I ran outside and told him to leave right away. He looked at my face and didn't say a word, his face twisted up in guilt. I backed away and tried to hide my face with my hand remembering that I had bruises the size of Russia on my face.
"Blaire, you need to leave.. now! Please?" I begged him but Blaire walked closer towards me and brushed some stray hair behind my eye. I flinched and slapped his hand away.
"Seria please, just let me take you to the hospital? You need to get help, get away from that jerk, I can help you." Yet again he tried to get closer and I just backed away.
"The only thing you need help with is yourself! Why don't you go find that whore girlfriend of yours and go fuck yourself! I don't need help from you especially Blaire." I sneered at him and walked up to the doorway. "Leave! Go! Get out of here!" Screaming every word, I opened the door and closed it, waiting to hear him turn on his car and drive away.

When he did I ran to my room, slammed the door, locked it and sank down to the floor. I started balling, tears flowing from my eyes, my head hurt so much. "Why.. why this? .. Why.. me?" I choked out through sobs. I drifted to sleep when Brent arrived at the house. I awoke to pounding on my door, panic ran through my whole body.
"Shit.." was all I could manage to say, let alone think.
