In the forest of twilight

Dark is the valley of Twilight

Where slumbers my love everlasting

Where filters grey through the tree-tops

The feeble, cold light of the moon

And deep in the valley of Twilight

Within the black heart of wild-wood

Lingers my love, numb with waiting

For a bright dawn that may never come

For too cold at night is the valley

As within it I wander alone

For comfort, only my tortured thoughts

As I search for my long-missing love

Alone, still I wander in darkness

Beneath the pale eye of the moon

I follow the light to my love one

As the thorns rip and tear from my soul

I wish for the shadows at nightfall

Where lies the dark veil of evening

Where waits my lost love, soul of Twilight

Who weeps alone in the night neath the moon.
