Forest: Mmkay, this was written for a group project on The Odyssey. It's a song written from Odysseus to another character.

David: But she wrote it so you wouldn't know who that character was till the end.

Forest: yeah, shut up, ENJOY!

20 Years Past

20 years past, my presence decaying,

My connection to this life is fraying,

Long forgotten I stand here now,

Viewing things I cannot allow.

20 years past, I return to find,

Something I knew was in this future of mine,

Suitors vying for my wife’s attention,

With only the most foul intentions.

But, you remained faithful,

Held on for me,

You kept me in your heart,

And stayed by me, though miles apart.

Servants strayed, family gave up,

Men moved in to scoop her up,

My riches my life,

Intending to take it all, even my wife.

Few knew it was really me,

And even less wanted to believe

But you were there, waiting for me,

A loyalty few could ever hope to see.

20 years past, you lived on,

Somehow you knew I would come home,

Something that could only be expected,

By someone who knew me as well as you did.

You remained faithful,

Faithful when others strayed,

You stood there, waiting for me,

So long, you’re old and decayed.

This sort of love is never-ending,

Unconditional, barrier transcending,

A loyal that clears life’s fog,

That can only come from a man’s dog.
