The Love of Others

I suppose that there will always be

Those whose greatest need

Is to be loved.

The people who feel worthless

Without someone else's approval.

But knowing they will always be there

Doesn't mean I understand it.

I will always wonder why

There will always be those crowds

Who walk around

Looking for the love of another.

Does it complete them,

Make them whole?

I fail to see

How being whole, in that way,

Could ever be beneficial.

Because people stop loving,

People leave,

And the only one who will always be there

Is yourself.

And if you constantly lean on others,

One day you will fall.

The best that you can do

Is know how to pick yourself up from the floor.

Know your own worth.
