Tongues of Serpents

Wings ripped and tattered

Upon the floor, feathers scattered

Her eyes blinded by tears

Her face streaked with blood

Surrounded in the dark

Pale flesh bruised and scarred

The serpents bind her down

Sickened by the plague, but can scream no sound

Serpents coiled, suffocating her

Their deadly whispers in her ear

"You are a disgrace," rolls off their tongue

Plagued with sorrow, the lies she believed

Corrupt and left to bleed

Silently she cried to her Heavenly Father

"Please, don't forsaken me," was her weakened plea

Now a wingless disgrace

But at last, by the light she was embraced

And all darkness left to decay
