Chapter 2: The Shadowian’s melody
A/N: I first of all want to thank all of you for reviewing this story. Really thanks. In this chapter you follow Derviz;D.
The melody suddenly stopped.
I was Derviz… a dragon. I had the ability to call a dragon… transform into a stronger form… A form that gave me wings and gave me strong powers… yet… Even I stopped and listened to him.
It was like he was telling a story. Like…
He suddenly stopped and stared out of the window. I knew he was probably deadly wounded. He wouldn’t last long. I expected him to stop playing the flute and give up… but instead he continued playing the sad melody.
I entered the prison and saw him sitting in the window playing. He was gasping after air… yet he continued playing. “Shadowian” I said. I was supposed to break him. Break him so badly he would tell me where the Leading Tower was. I stopped and saw him. He wasn’t that dangerous. Some said that a Shadowian in its astral form was terrible powerful. Now he just looked like a human with a few tattoos on his right arm. Then I saw it. The moon was shinning into the cell and I saw Law’s wings. “Wings?” Shadowians looked like normal humans… us Dragons were completely different. We carried wings and tattoos on our bodies. I carried a red tattoo that started on my shoulder and continued down my back and on my legs.
“My energy is close to the moon… it shows some part of my astral form,” he answered. “Why are you here?” he asked.
“The moon?” I asked.
Law slowly nodded. “Yes. All Shadowians energies are close to the nature. We don’t carry powers that the nature does not have”. He looked at the moon. “There’s still so much I don’t know…” he stopped. He looked back at me. “What about you Dragon? Any secrets I should know? Can you call a Dragon?” he asked curious. I could see small emotions shinning in his beautiful sea blue eyes.
“Yep” I smiled. “But lately many Dragons have been killed”
“Because of the Shadowians?” he asked.
“No because of the Vampires…” I answered. I stopped. Was I actually having a serious conversation with this man?? “Why do you care after all?”
He sighed and continued playing on the flute. This time the melody was really sad… like he was calling after someone. Longing after someone.
“We’ll kill you in the end” I said.
He looked at me. “No matter what happen… I still have my pride” He placed the flute on the bed. “Are your name Derviz?” he asked.
I nodded. “Shadowian can I ask you about something?” I asked.
“Yes?” he asked.
“Why did you kill my father?” I asked. I knew it was a personal sensitive subject.
Law slowly walked closer to me. “I didn’t kill him,” he answered. “I have never killed a dragon”
I looked shocked at him. “But you’re the leader you-“
“I have killed thousands of vampires. But never a Dragon” It shocked me… I had expected him to be a black hearted murder.
I trailed into silence. No! I didn’t have time being weak around him. He should pay! Him and his damn proud race. I would kill all of them. Shadowians were evil and that was all of it. But as I looked at him I saw the wounds were healing in the moon light. It was like even though we had drained his powers he still had the ability to call forth his powers. He was the leader. Lawrence Tasbathi. I wouldn’t let anything not this man stand in my way. ”You’re just a sick lair and that’s all” I said. I left the prison. I didn’t want to remember him. I hated him. I decided to go to the royal park. As I sat there listening to the birds I heard his flute. I also heard footsteps behind of me. ”who?” I asked.
Quicksilver was mute. Yet every one knew what she wanted to say through her eyes.
“I hate him!” I yelled. “How can he” I lost words when she placed her hand on my hand. Her gentle eyes shined into mine. “Quicksilver” I trailed into silence. I wanted to kill him. But I had a people to lead. I didn’t have time to… do this. Some said that Quicksilver was sneaking of into the woods. No one knew what she was doing or why. “I don’t get him Quicksilver…” I mumbled. “Shadowians doesn’t have a heart. Everyone know that” I stared into space. “He’s just a jerk!” I yelled. “I want to kill him with my hands!”
And the flute kept playing through the day. I knew he was weak yet he continued playing.
Then suddenly in the middle of the afternoon it stopped. It was like he had accomplished his goal. Then he finally allowed himself to rest. Yarg and all the other Dragons wanted to torture him. But deep inside I knew Law would never tell us anything.
His pride and his way of acting against Yarg very soon proved for everyone he was a proud man. A man who was taken serious when he wanted to. Law was recovering very fast. It surprised all of us. We hardly gave him anything that could be called food. Yet he seemed to heal up fast.
One afternoon I found him in the bed with a high fever. It would kill him… so did Quicksilver feel. I was torn between my duties and my… want for healing this proud man. But I ignored my feelings and waited for him to die.
Quicksilver was a gentle Dragon. She loved everyone and carried no hatred against the Shadowians.
That afternoon I found Law having a nightmare. I heard him scream of pain… through his fever and his nightmare. I kneeled down beside him. ”Wake up!” I yelled harsh.
No respond. Just. ”They are coming… they…” he trailed into silence. ”Vampires!” then a huge shelter appeared around of him. It was like… his energy or power or whatever they called it protected him. ”Vampires!”. He held on to the sheets on the bed. ”…Vampires… mountains”
”Shadowian!” I yelled. He seemed completely caught in his own dream.
He slowly opened his eyes. ”Vampires… They were coming” he said. ”Your people are in danger”
The only word on my lips in that moment was ”What?”
