Sealing an envelope

The final stage to be complete; the final task to ensure the end. The envelope is lifted up to eye-level, being judged as well as the letter was now folded inside. One last moment of questioning its finality of the message before a sigh and the shifting position of fingers; now clasping the sides tightly with the thumb’s position just under the seal.

It is slowly brought closer, a wet tongue sliding across to moist the seal, causing it to become sticky, stronger, able to hold the letters contents in secret other fingers would pry it open.

The envelope is moved, pressed down onto the table and carefully, carefully the seal is folded, pressed down over the envelope’s entrance. A secret message now inside, unreachable from prying eyes. And only one would now break the seal and lean what lay beyond.
