"Past"

Past the burning years of war,

as history settles into peace,

lies the knowledge of years past-

all that the seers see.

Past the days of Christ,

Beyond the days of fallen Rome,

lies the contempt,

of hatred long been sewn.

Through books we read our history,

ain the knowledge of the years,

all the joy once been had,

now turns to ancient tears.
