Emotions of Life

Anger…

Hate…

Jealousy…

Betrayal…

Fear…

Pain…

Love…

Heartache…

Confusion…

These are the emotions felt by teenagers everywhere.

They can’t stop it,

They can’t fight it,

All they can do is deal with it.

You may not understand,

Or refuse to,

But I know from hands on experience what these emotions can do to a person.

Anger… Hate… Jealousy…

They are seductress’s above our time.

They wait quietly in the depths of life,

Entering only when a person feels alone in the world.

You are not born with these emotions,

For you invite them in,

You let them control you, live your life for you.

They will consume your very soul if you let them.

Betrayal… Fear… Pain…

These go hand in hand.

With betrayal you loose something.

Every time you loose something, it’s inevitable.

With fear you close off your soul from the most important things in your life,

You are consumed with the blackness of your own imagination.

With pain you are as low as you can get.

You are lost and you have to squint hard to see that small shimmer of light,

Of hope,

That is far ahead of where you are now

Love… Heartache… Confusion…

These emotions may be as strong as anger, hate, and jealousy.

With love you are oblivious to everything but the other person,

You care only for your beloved that you don’t notice what’s happening around you,

What the other’s faults are,

Their hidden secrets or desires, or even what they are truly like when you’re not there

Then comes heartache,

When you realize that your significant other isn’t who you thought them to be.

You are hurt, down

Think that nothing will ever bring you back to the light.

You are confused.

Confusion is a very interesting thing indeed.

It is a multitude of feelings, colors, and words.

First happy, then sad, the next longing before turning into anxiety.

These are some of the emotions felt by teenagers everywhere.

They are your dearest friends,

Your most loathed enemies,

Your very own brother and sister,

These feeling can even be hidden in the depths of the person most close to you…

Yourself.

You yourself are in control of what you feel,

How you act,

What you say,

To the ones you love and to the ones you hate.

How will you choose to live your life?

You only have one life,

Do whatever you want with it,

But make sure that you have no regrets afterwards,

For once you’ve done something, you can’t always take it back.

Will you choose to let your life be ruled by these emotions?

BV- MAN! I hate using those stupid lines. Makes the whole poem looks so amature-ish in my opinion... but oh well. Site won't let me add the spaces in between each paragraph. If you know some technicalway how to, feel free to tell me. And even if you don't, feel free to tell me what you think of my newest poem. I have no idea where I got the inspiration for this piece... I wrote it right after I broke a friendship with an ex-friend. (Long story, and I don't want to get into it with people I hardly know... ) So I guess that the VERY root of this came from my anger and frustration there, but oh well! I cranked this one out in about 1/2 hour (it only took that long because I had dinner in between...). Anywho... I'm rambling so R&R! Even though you've already done the reading part of the R&R.
