The darkness of that night covered their eyes in a cloud that they could barley see through. She looked up ahead and saw a glowing figure. As they neared, Ella saw that it was a little girl sitting on a bench. The girl seemed to glow as if lights were shining on her. Her blonde hair and pale white skin made her shine even more. She wore a dirty white and yellow flowered dress that conformed her body. Her legs were crossed at the ankles; her frilly socks were torn as if there had been years of wear. The small blue and purple dark circles that were visible on her legs stood out.
As Ella’s eyes traveled up the little girls figure and noticed that she couldn’t see her face. The little girl had her head bowed, hands folded in her lap as if she were praying. Her hair fell around her face like and umbrella shielding her face from the rain. The little girl slowly looked up, causing her hair to fall slowly back into place in front of her ears. The bruise-like circles seemed to get bigger as they went up her body. It looked like there was a dark bruise around her left eye, but Ella couldn’t tell if it was a shadow or real. The little droplets were running down her expression and shown in the moonlight. The look on her face was frozen in a pained expression while the tears still came.
