"A voice"

I was one without a voice

In a sea of blinded fools

It did not come with my own heart's desire

It did not come with the four mighty winds

That ever do rage there eternal struggle

With mountain, sea and storm

Rather came it

as does a rose bloom

As does the rain fall

As does the sun touch a child's face

Then, I was but a child

Clothed in virgin white

Evermore stained in scarlet tears

I was so young, so blind

Yet not so old

to have been

Stripped of foolish courage

And I have yet

to be torn from impossible dreams

And suddenly I

Stole those raging winds

Into my hungry hands

Thus so I spoke

With what word

Did I speak?

I spoke

In all the colors of the rainbow

In fingers and toes

In clouds and in tears

I spoke

As does a man listen to God

I spoke

As does a tear fall

I spoke

As does the thunder roll

I spoke

I spoke

As do kisses taste

As do doves fly

And as does a man laugh

I am

So I am

That which I spoke

That which I speak
