A/N: Yeah, this was just another 'fling'. I guess it's not as good as the first chapter. But, this is kind of another storyline to it. Just before. I might do a background story, to explain a little more. But, I don't know.
"Then why don't you just kill me," Michael growled, struggling hard against the iron clads that held her to the wall. Her mind was slowly developing into something different. Her aggression growing. Like a mad animal fighting for it's life. She fell hard against the concrete wall behind her, letting it cut through her thin shirt, and into her flesh. She took in long, deep breaths.
She wanted to scream.
"Because, not even I could do that," Craig whispered, her bleeding, battered body laying on the ground. She wanted nothing more than to help her sister. To help her fight against whatever scientific disaster those bastards did to her. But, it was already to late. She could feel it.
Michael was lost, and there wasn't nothing she could do.
But, when she did try to help, those...those bastards pull every trick out of the book. Blood coming to her mouth from one of her broken ribs,
She could hear Michael growling, apparently in pain. She struggled against her restraints, only brining more pain to herself. Finally, she slumped down, her body restlessly giving in to the mutations, "I wish nothing more than to just die. But, not even that can true. So then, why is it you're still here?"
"Because," Craig answered, slowly pushing herself, she looked over to see her sister. She was changing faster than before, "I'm not sure if you remember this, but, we made a promise, when we turned 21, that we would never leave each other's side. That, if anything happened, we would stick together." she choked slightly, blood coming to her mouth. She quickly spat it out, "I'm staying to that. Whether or not, you stay Michael or turn into...into one of those freaks."
"Freaks," Michael laughed, her voice even changing, "I never....would have guessed you call me that, my sweet sister."
She could still make out Michael's features. Her long dirty-blond hair. Her sharp brown eyes. Her 5' 9'' structure. Features, that were identical to hers'. Her twin. But, there was also Aaron. Her triplet.
Her body shook slightly, going under from the pain. She collapsed back against the cold concrete ground.
"Aaron...," she whispered, "Where are you?"
Fighting off several of the nearby creatures. Most of them being taller than she was. She fell to the ground, throwing her TMP up. She pulled the trigger, blasting a rain of bullets into their bodies. A flood of black liquid fell over her body, as the creatures sustained to the bullets.
Jumping to her feet, she slid slightly, but ran.
She had to find them. Her sisters,
"Michael. Craig. Just wait for me alright," she whispered to herself, sprinting down the long hallways, "I'll be there. I'll be there."
She struck a door, as it jumped open suddenly. Knocking her straight off her feet. She groaned, putting her hand to her face. Where blood was leaking from her nose. She looked up, to see another one of those creatures.
She rolled to her side, as a blade broke from it's arm and struck the ground where her head had previously been. She swung around, break it's fragile arm. She kicked it's leg out from underneath it and got to her feet.
"Self-destruct system has been activated. Self-destruction will happen in Sector 12, in 2 minutes," a female voice rang over the intercoms. Her message echoing down the long hallways,
"Self-destruct system?" she questioned, "Sector 12. No, no, not there." she ran down the hallway, "Michael. Craig."
"Self-destruct system will happen in Sector 12, in 1 minute," Michael mocked, her voice lowering. She growled as a wave of pain struck through her, she pulled against her restraints. Just to get loose...,
"Do you want me to get you out?" Craig asked,
"No" Michael barked, "I don't need your help." There was a sharp crack as she pulled again. Several of the screws fell loose from the right chain. She fell back, with her sudden loss of strength. She laughed slightly, and softly to herself,
"What's so funny?" Craig asked, looking up at her once again,
Michael didn't answer her at first, her head tilted towards her chest. Her hair falling over her face. She was still laughing. Slowly looking up, she meet Craig's eyes, "Self-destruct system will happen in Sector 12, in 5....4....3....2..."
1..
The sudden roar of the detonations echoed through the hallways.
Engulfing the place in flames.
The blast and heat from the explosion knocked her back, off her feet. She rolled over, getting up. Watching as the hallway in front of her was completely burned. Most of the building blown away. Revealing the dark night outside.
No, no, she was so close. Just a few more feet.
She got up, slowly walking down the destroyed hallway. Burned, crisped of pieces were crunching underneath her feet. She placed her gun back into it's holster on her belt. The cold night chill creeping over her skin. Nothing remained.
Nothing.
No one.
"Michael? Craig?" her voice wavered, cracking slightly. Giving into her sudden fear and sorrow. No answer.
She walked into, what would've been a room. Catching a small glittering object. She knelt down. Taking the chain into her hand. The burned remains of a gold chain, a dog tag saying 'Critical Craig' on it. Choking bad some tears, she pushed the chain into her pocket. She had been hear. The start of the explosion.
She didn't make it.
Neither did Michael.
"This wasn't what was suppose to happen," she whispered, going to both knees, placing her head into her hands, "We were suppose to stay together. All of us. I can't do anything alone. You were suppose to stay by my side."
She reached into her jacket pocket, pulling out a small vial. It was still unharmed. She had completed her mission.
All this sacrifice.
All the pain.
Michael.
Craig.
She wanted to crush it in her hand, Watching as it's contains washed over her fingers. But, they didn't give their lives, for her to screw everything up. She let out a depressing sigh, shoving the vial back into her pocket.
"I'll never forget you, no one will," she whispered, slowly getting up.
Something shot up, grabbing her around the left knee. It drug her into the ground. Yelping slightly, by surprise, she tried to get back up. It only tightened it's grip, almost bone shattering.
Another one shot up, grabbing her right wrist. It pulled her down, smashing her face into the ground.
This time, she fought back. Pulling harder against it's strength.
She heard what seemed like an inhuman roar, just beneath the floor. Already half way up, her knees still bent slightly, it pulled with all it's force.
She fell.
Breaking through the floor.
She didn't know how long she felt like she was in air, before smashing into the ground. She groaned, curling up slightly. She had landed hard on her chest, breaking the air from her lungs.
She slowly got up, watching as the 'tentacles' that had grabbed her earlier, released and slowly slithered away. She followed it, watching as it returned to it's owner.
She gasped, moving backwards slightly.
One of those creatures. Larger. Taller. Stronger.
"Michael?" she whispered, "Craig?"
