Dreamer

Dreamer,

I’ll lay my head down for a minute,

Close my eyes for a split-second-rest

I can’t stay for too long, though

I’ve got worlds that spin dizzily that I must s p e l l out for you

-

You’re a dreamer

And you demand threads to weave into your glittery visions

You need pixie dust and I’ve got a bag of golden powder

To get you high on life

-

You’ll always be a dreamer,

Wishing for the comfort of your own bed

And someone warm to sleep with

Someone else’s star kissed slumber to steal

When your own elusive dreams f.l.u.t.t.e.r

Into the oblivion that I call home

You need my moonlightpath perfume

To spark interest in your cloudy eyes

-

You’re my dreamer

And I love you

So I’ll tuck my most sacred fantasies (oh no, not that kind)

Into bed with you (warm them up, dreamer)

Tickle them (pink) and kiss them goodnight

Because I can’t stay long

I’m too tired to think

And too dreary to dream

-

So take these dreams,

Dreamer,

And breathe your peppermint breath into their hollow lungs

Let them dance on the wings of dangerous dragonflies

Teach them to flirt with frivolous fairies

Help them to silently stalk snow-dusted spirits

And give them all that I cannot provide

For I am not a dreamer,

I am merely a poet

You are a dreamer

And so you gather your fragile innocence

Bathe it in purple moonlight that smells like the dress I just took off

Then cloak my china doll dreams that s h a t t e r like glass

In your silky slip that brushed against my tainted hand

-

Dreamer,

Dare to dream

Even when I grow hideous with jealousy

And mock your tinker bell toes

Because unlike me,

Who has not a second to s p a r e,

You were created to dream

To use my fragmented midnight wishes to your unfair advantage

-

And dreamer,

Remember one thing,

When I slip away

And all is lost

I will need you more than anything

I will need you to wrap me in your silver silk

The one that coats only the most brittle of dreams

Because one day, I too will be no more than a dream,

A name someone warm mumbles at 12:19 am,

When they are lost in your world of magic and pleasure (oh no, not that kind)

-

I am delicate and (tiny)

And I have no wings of my own

So it is your job to raise me above it all,

Because you are the dreamer

And when I leave in a moment,

You’ll still be the dreamer

But I will only be the faded memory

Of someone else’s dream

A/N- Sort of about G-d... I just jotted it down and liked it so here it is.
