One the floor of my room
Your letters lay
Opened and scattered
You still can’t spell
My hands knead together
Goose bumps on my arms
Tears fall from my eyes
And onto the sheets
The imprint of your body
Is still in my bed
Cold and empty
Nothing left to fill it
I can’t look anymore
At the lies you wrote
They still sound good
Ringing in my head
The locket you bought
Feels heavy on my throat
Our picture still inside
Happily smiling forever
You could’ve told the truth
That you didn’t love me
That there was someone else
That you cared for instead
But I found out the worst way
By coming over too early
And I saw her there
And I saw you too
I’m going to keep the letters
And the necklace too
I still sleep on this side of the bed
Because I never want to forget
