Fascinated With Water

My kitten Peanut stares at me

Not minding one bit that I'm bathing

The water intriegues him

I don't understand why

Oddly he doesn't like to get wet

All cats are like this though

They are enigmas we humans cannot solve

It still tickles me how he watches me

Like an apt pupil studying a lesson

He carefully balances on the rim of the tub

His curious yellow-orange eyes dancing

So inquisitive this little child

Not caring about my giggles

Not bothered by the water dripping from the sponge hung far above

He soon loses interest and moves on

His raccoon tail swishing

Off again to play one of his games

To delight and bemuse us all.
