Mumbling, laughter, various clicks,
Pitter-patter gibberish with the
Occasional slip to English when its
Words are more efficient
To convey their unknown messages.

A commoner within an alien world
Mass confusion within the norm
Of everyday life...

It leaves you solitary when surrounded;
Longing for one voice to interpret
And give clarity to chaos.

A/N In my class of about 40 students, I am the only Afrikaner. We have two other students that have English as their first language. The rest of the class is Xhosa - which is an African language the locals here speak. While our classes is in English, the students speak the language almost throughout among one another... leaving those who don't know it with no knowledge of what they're saying.
