there are some things you cannot tell
to people
whether you want to or not

it’s not entirely that
society wouldn’t appreciate
the drunken mother and business father
or that
they’d realize you’re full of crap
or even that
social irresponsibility is not highly favored

It’s because
nobody ever reads
poetry

and even when they do
words
disconnected by interrupting
line breaks
and a dearth of
bleeding wrists and tear-stained
faces
could hardly be considered
aform of art
