Sky

The only way to wash away your fingerprints
Is to die in a painful way.
I can’t see my hands in front of my face.
I am alone in the dark.
You left me alone.
There’s nothing more I can do to save myself,
Nothing left of my twisted, neglected soul.
I’ve stood by and watched it,
I’ve seen it become destroyed,
And I’ve seen it go up in flames.
I’ve watched it burn for months,
And the ashes were remnants
Of a broken future.
I never had the guts to do anything,
I just cried my sharpest tears,
Praying that it would be okay.
My feet were stabbed, they bled.
I couldn’t walk,
Now I lay here,
Looking at a sky of dreams.
