She wore a Che Guevara t-shirt (what
with star-emblazoned cap and all)
and hipster jeans, complete with belt,
sitting there letting punk rock pump into her dainty
ears (you always notice the ears first),
straight out of her iPod.

And then she hums along:
Hmm
Hmm
Hmm
(how did the tune go again?)
It doesn't matter, she hummed with such gusto,
such conviction,
it didn't matter anymore that
there wasn't anything to believe in,

I just believed. In billboard signs,
whatever. Does it matter?
