emptiness

(embodied)

consumes

me

what i once met with fists

poised and ready to fight off

get away from me

i don't need you

i will welcome

you always used to whisper,

go ahead and cry

it'll do you some good

you just need to cry sometimes

and you'd hold me while i did so

but i couldn't hold you

as you slipped away from me

so you died alone

(i'm sorry)
