And I didn't think of the news it would bring.

But from the silence that filled the house,

I knew something had happened.

No one wanted to accept the truth,

But the facts were right there in front of us.

You were free from all the physical pain you had suffered,

But left pain in all our hearts.

We didn't want to say good-bye,

We wanted you to live forever.

You have alway been in our hearts,

But no longer could we see you.

We're happy you have left the pain,

And we know you are in a better place.

We want to see you, hear you, talk to you one last time,

But God has decided for you to come with him.

I know you want us to smile,

And leave the tears behind.

You are no longer suffering,

And you were strong the whole way through.
