Listen closely and you’ll hear the volume turn itself down.

Everything is far away;

Blurry, but alive.

Ennui like a sledge-hammer

pounds heavy eyes into the back of their heads,

turning porcelain faces into caves.

Leaky cartridge,

blue and black copies of yesterday.

When days don’t end,

they lose their names.
