pain exaggerated, exacerbated
beyond the limits of any mortal (wo)man
all to make her more the hero
and kill the brave souls who may have said,
"something here isn't right"
and purify the last of
the lingering gene pool;
and all that's left
are idiots.

A/N: dedicated to my loathing of mythical, all-powerful heroes. because what the greeks never got was that that stereotype, however admirable, is not and never will be real.

in truth, it is in having flaw, and eventually rising above said flaw, that you become a hero.
