This is another piece I had to write for school. I very much hope that this doesn't offend anyone, but if it does, please tell me in the review and I'll try to change whatever you find offensive.
If you read this poem and don't know what the Holocaust was, please don't ask me in the reviews, because I don't want to have to explain it, but do NOT look it up on google, or any other search machine, because I can't imagine the kind of accounts and pictures they'd have on the internet.
Last of all - REVIEW!!!
Soldier of the Holocaust
I was there,
I saw it all,
Heard it,
Tasted it,
Touched it and smelt,
The thousands of Jews,
Sent to their deaths.
I saw them lining up,
Saw a guard pull a baby from its mother,
Saw children shot,
Carcasses burnt.
What was the difference between them and me?
I heard their screams,
The wailings and shouts,
and then,
the terrible silence.
What was the difference between them and me?
I tasted the meat,
No Jew would ever get,
I tasted the food,
Jews needed so badly.
What was the difference between them and me?
I touched the guns,
That would kill so many children,
I touched the doors,
Of the so-called showers.
What was the difference between them and me?
I smelt the stench,
Of burning bodies,
Smelt the fear,
That this day would be their last.
What was the difference between them and me?
This was the difference:
I was not a Jew,
And that saved my life.
Please review, I know it isn't a masterpiece but I'd still like constructive criticisms - NO FLAMES!
