depth of devotion

what is the depth of devotion?

when the one who stood by you for so long,

turns away, how far does their's go?

when complete strangers tell you to leave,

and the one who stood by you for so long turns to go

along with them after they have said their piece,

how deep is their's?

when the one who kept you going for so long is no longer there,

what do you do?

do you follow the strangers orders to leave? for how long?

is there permanence in their desires?

why is this happening again? who will be there now to pull me

back from the steep edge of forever's oblivian?

who will save me now? when the one who did before is no longer there?

i guess i'll just fall. into darkness. for eternity.

i guess their devotion didn't last very long.

and now... its too late...
