Off to Battle

Hair up, dressed up

We forge off into battle

Prepared to complete such a bloody mission

We've got our weapons

Loaded, ready to fire

If need be

Marching to such a solemn drum

Dreading the reactions

Anxious to just go home

Just get out of that hideous scene

That gruesome place

And just go home

Knowing the devastation we left in our paths

But, at least we won't be completely alone. . .
