The rushing waterfall made such a sound

As I walked along the ground

The bitter berries gave me strength

As I walked my longest length

The sun shone lightly through the trees

My hair was ruffled by the breeze

At last I found a sitting stone

And there I sat all alone

But not alone as you might think

He was there in one quick wink

We sat and talked for an hour

Then I felt something so sour

My heart was torn

I felt so forlorn

For now the hour nearly away

He held me close just to say

“Forever we will never part

For now we have a bitter start

I have to leave, I have to go

My heart will be as cold as snow.”

He pulled a flower from a tree

And then he put it out to me

He left me sitting there

For on my face there was a stare

I could see him as he went

Until my body was all spent

I walked back home, I cried and cried

I felt as though my heart had died

To this day I have that flower

I give it water by the hour

There it is nice and trim

It remind me of his face and him
