I actually really like the story in this poem, so I thought I'd share: A servant girl on the deck of a ship watches the Prince she serves as they sail to visit a neighboring country. Her thoughts wander and she humors her fantasies as she tends to her duties.

With Me, Not Away

Waves of liquid roll my spine

And with every groove of this body

Pulsing deep within you

Every classical step up

I start to feel something for mortal face

When there is not but sweetness

In a summer’s brilliant heat

A glimmering you’ve thrown

Like cool water on my dry,

Seeped soul

For these symbols

Out of the shadows cast by

The light of a golden boy

I can see a hand reaching for mine

And for once flying with me

Not away

With me over golden sand

And a banquet of clarity

Of clumsy smiles,

Beams of jealous light

Play tricks in your eyes

While the deep water below

Is the only constant source of confidence

for your shallow girl
