“Damaged”

Written Tuesday, January 3, 2006 12:17 p.m.

Troubled

I am very troubled

Things are moving too fast

I don’t know what to do

My little heart is jumping

I hate it

I can’t control these stupid emotions

They’re flooding out like a tidal wave

Wrecked with anger, tiredness, sadness

All these damn feelings

Are flying out the door and window

So please let me cry, cry, cry

For this one moment

Let me die, die, die for a second

Don’t try to comfort me

Don’t try to care right now

Just let me be

Leave me alone for a while
Don’t bother me

Because I don’t want to talk

I’ll gladly shove you out of my head

And crumble up your sentences of words

Just get out

Cause you don’t know anything

So let me cry, cry, cry for this one moment

Would you let me die, die, die for a second?

Don’t think you can make me okay

Just go away

Don’t pretend like you know

Cause you don’t know a damn thing

Let me cry,

Go ahead, let me cry

Cry

Cry

Cry

And embrace this pain

So I can just die a little for a second …

Allthingsapple: This poem is inspired by my memories of the times in junior high school that I was having some major depression issues and my parents and I were always arguing. Well, they did most of the arguing because I’d just let them yell at me.
