Something Different
Chapter 1
Ever since I was 5 years old, Nicholas Forester has been the vein of my existence. I’m 24 years old now, and he still is.
I met him first, in kindergarten. It was naptime and the teacher wasn’t really paying much attention to her ‘sleeping’ students, and Nick, got up and grabbed a black marker, went over to me, whom at the time was sleeping, and drew all over my face.
Since then, he has made fat jokes, played pranks, completely made an ass of himself, by embarrassing me in front of everyone.
Now, before you ask, yes, Nick was Mr. Popular and I was the fat loser in high school. That only made his taunting worse.
Of course, our mothers got along fantastically; they were two peas in a pod. Which, in result to this little friendship, our moms were constantly trying to get us to hook up. While they were busy getting Nick and I together, they didn’t notice my younger sister and his younger brother falling completely in love with each other.
Just last year did Nick’s brother, Jake, propose to my sister, Ella. They were 22 at the time.
Lucky for me, I haven’t had to see Nick since high school, six years ago.
I went to University of Florida, and Will went to Florida State University. Of course he goes to my school’s rival.
Anyway, after college, I moved to New York City, it was a change from the small southern town where I grew up, in Florida. But, I kind of like living in New York; there is always something new and exciting to see.
I work at a big advertising agency in Manhattan; it’s a pain sometimes, but mostly, pretty interesting.
Currently, I was back home for Jake and Ella’s wedding. I hadn’t noticed how much I’ve missed my old room.
I walked down stairs towards the kitchen when I saw a familiar man in my living room.
It was Nick, and good Lord was he hot.
He still had the same, dark brown hair only it was longer and messier, his icy blue eyes were the same also, but now, he had a nice toned body and was about 6’2 now.
Damn!
I tried to walk past the living room with out him seeing me…
Didn’t work.
He looked up and smirked.
“Reeves, long time no see.” He said, spotting me.
I stared at him.
“Look, Reeves I know I’m hot, but you don’t have to just stand there staring at me, its weird.” He said, cockily.
I glared at him.
“What are you doing here? If I can remember correctly, your parents’ house is across the street and this in my house.” I inquired.
“No,” he started, “I haven’t forgot which house my parents live in. I’m staying here until the wedding is over. Too many people are staying at my parents’, I was going to go to a hotel but your mother insisted that I stay here until the wedding is over,” he finished.
I almost threw up. The only room left with an extra bed was my room. I had two twin beds.
“What room are you staying in?” I asked, I hope it’s not mine.
Nick, once again, smirked.
“Why your room my dear,” he said.
I stared at him in horror.
“What? Ha ha no, you aren’t staying in my room.” I told him, in a panicky voice.
“Yes, I am. That is the room Mrs. Reeves told me I would be staying in.” he told me.
“MOM!” I yelled.
Ok, I know I’m 24 years old and yelling for my mom is something a 10-year-old would do, but this is just crazy.
Nick frowned and covered his ears. Haha he better cover his ears.
My mom came running out of the kitchen, drying her hands on her apron, with a worried face. Then she saw Nick and I standing next to each other and smiled.
“What is it honey?” she asked sweetly.
“Why is that…that rat staying in my room?” I questioned her, pointing towards Nick.
My mom smiled slightly.
“Honey, your room is the only one with an extra bed. There is not room left at the Forester’s house, and please, he is a guest, be nice.” She said.
Nick smirked, I gagged, and Mom smiled.
And so the horror began.
