Beware the Over Sixties!
The Joys of growing old, there’s watching your children grow up into mature young people, get married, have their own children and getting to see your grandchildren every weekend when you have to baby-sit the little darlings. Then of course there’s the fact that you no longer have to work, you get a pension and even more chance to see your grandkids, but what if that wasn’t the case? What if when you reached a certain age, say sixty the government had you killed off in a new program to depopulate the planet? Would you really hold it against them? Think of your grandkids future.... would you really deny them a chance to make the world a better place?
For a start when you hit sixty most people believe you’ve run out of usefulness in the world and if you really think about it, maybe they’re right. So, okay, you can work till you reach the grand old age of sixty-five but after that? You retire, get your pension and do what? You sit at home, or maybe go for the occasional walk with the proverbial dog, and you live the rest of your life out quietly.
Taking up hospital beds when you grow weaker, taking up housing which could be used for other purposes, for example the care homes could be put to other uses. If at sixty everyone was given an injection that painlessly stopped the heart then many things would change and I believe make the world a better place.
For instance the population would decrease by vast amounts which in turn would lower the amount of patients in hospitals where there are wards full
of people over sixty whose health is slowly failing. The hospitals are doing their best to keep them alive for another month of so. A.k.a ‘bed hoggers’. Is that really fair?
It’s a proven fact that the body starts slowly failing at the tender age of 21, by sixty there’s a whole other host of problems to deal with. Arthritis, cataracts, kidney problems, weak bladders, there’s assorted problems which come with age, organs start failing and all these things come with growing old.
Wouldn’t it be nice to avoid all that? By agreeing to be euthanized at sixty you’re really saving yourself from a lot of long term problems. If the amount of people in the wards of hospitals were fewer the doctors would be able to treat people with more easily curable problems and not have to worry about where to put them because the beds are overcrowded with people on their last legs, there would also be more time for research into the more serious diseases such as cancer.
If the over sixties were to be killed off think of the people it could in fact help. The homeless for example. When the care homes have been emptied we can move the homeless into these vacant places where they can clean themselves up and have a place to stay for a certain amount of time until they can get a job and eventually afford their own place to live.
We’d also have larger food supplies if the population was cut down so we’d be able to give more to the people in struggling countries.
With no pensions to worry about anymore, the chancellor could divert funds to useful projects beneficial to young and able-bodied folk. People would overall have much more money, so the economy would flourish and our great island would benefit.
So you see this can only be a good thing. If you’re over sixty and you’re reading this, think of what you can do for you country. Think of what your country will be doing for you, saving you from the pains of age related illness and in return you’ll be making a better world for your children and their children’s children. This could be your chance to make a big difference in the world.
