Discarded

Left alone in the street,
In the wind like a piece of paper blown away
My love for you was discarded,
In the fire of your eyes.

Alone, the nightmare stalks its prey,
Foolish beatings upon the tinder dry.
My love for you was discarded
Scattered like the four winds that bind me

Snow falls, freezing my many faces.
My prism of days, emotions and words.
My love for you was discarded
Like so much trash and waste.

Rest you head for now, my darling,
Let all the feeling wash over you.
My love for you was discarded
And you never knew the truth.

So many memories, of time spent in sun,
In gravestones, the holy scriptures have lied.
My love for you was discarded
In the cold dark realm of death.

Falter not upon your grey path,
As mine walks on through the night.
My love for you was discarded,
In that holy blessed unfaithful day.

All it took was one simpering fool,
To break an oath wrote in stone.
(thou shalt not kill)
And my love for you was discarded,
Now I shall never see you again.
