A/N: i wrote an earlier version of this when i was about 12. it sucked so here's an updated version. THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME!

Falling Grace

She runs along,
On towards the light,
Rain patters the concrete,
On this cold fateful night.

She never looks back,
Not to the eyes of the man.
The bruises that have been caused
By his own empty hand.

He cries ‘wait, stop no’
She runs unabated.
The wounds she has taken.
Show the control he has stated

Too many times
Has this happened before.
They run, him chasing her.
Right through the downpour.

But tonight is different,
She will put it all back
Show him that she will not
Ever strike back.

She reaches the edge
He holds her still
He loves her now
He always will.

But too many times
Has he come home intoxicated
And in his violent acts
Her soul he alleviated.

She pushes him back.
And soars off the drop.
He cannot reach her
And she will not stop.

Such a lesson to be learned
Such a story written in pen
He has learned the hard way.
Never to touch her again.
