For Only the Ravenous

Once upon a vagrant fury, the night thundered dark and eerie

While countless waves rumbled and fell upon the abandoned shore;

Through miles of sand he laid fighting, only yards before sighting

His boat, clear in the lightning, tossed and beaten; but dragged ashore-

Through the torrential waters it traveled, with the tide dragged ashore.

It was there with nothing more.

His possessions lost to the sea, in a whirlwind catastrophe;

A debt of some sort, or a fee, leaving behind nothing more,

But words left to die unspoken, and oaths undyingly broken

His grave heart remained a token, of his life so long before-

Granting silence to his dreams of those men stranded long before.

Memories left, nothing more.

He wept for his lost possessions, delivering just confessions

Fearing his loss and depressions, he felt no need to explore

His life had ended it would seem, he had hoped it to be a dream,

This fate he descended upon; this retched burden he bore-

Melancholy and malice consumed him this burden he bore.

As the tide whispered, “What for?”

He sought to leave this horrid place, with no jury to plead his case;

Only miles of extensive space, shattered his heart to the core

He waded deep into the sea leaving all he would ever be

Fading away in the sea, to be seen again nevermore-

His reign has ended and he shall return again nevermore.

As the tide echoed, “What for?”
