Lucid

It is almost like a flavored dream

And my mind is filled with lucid fantasy.

Once and twice and three times more,

My mind floats in a separate realm.

I see, I hear, and I know it’s a feign

Attack once again on my sanity.

Swirling hues and pinks and blues

Fluorescent lights….

Through the clouds they contrast the night

Against the cerulean sky, and I can believe that I –

Would much rather stay…

My mind floats and wanders

When I see your eyes in a distant smile

It is safe to return to reality

Because all at once I see it in you.

But there is always the shock of waking into

Madness and the rampant chaos of the world….

And seeing nothing before me.
