Tears of a Rose

The cold embers cackle to the thunder's cry.
Tears of an angel wrought in the harsh Earth.
Warmth of hope, desire takes flight to endless sky.
And to you, springs of the soul finally give birth.

As the lone wolf who howls to the crescent moon;
Staring at the flora, blessed red like your kiss.
Arising false hopes, of your arrival too soon,
To bring me escape, sanctuary, and bliss.

Day by day, night by night shines the moonlight rose.
Binding, intwining by the twin heart's fire.
But now too soon, the doors shall be to close.
And all that is left is loneliness to inspire.

Shining, arriving; now is a fountain of mortal tear.
As we treasure now our destiny and dreams
But out reason is strong; our reason is dear.
As the cherubs gaze in watchful beams.

And maybe, someday, out fates will combine,
And maybe, our story will be praised by the crows,
As our hearts and beings meet and intertwine;
As I dry my tears with love's summer rose.
