Prisoner within Myself
Fifty stars go up in flames
Shattered peace of instant blame
Carry on till dawn is dusk
Watch me fall into the dust
Fury quietly fermenting
Child quality resenting
Forgive the wrong, condemn the right
A horror ending nearing sight
Watch the world spiral down
Behind each smile lives a frown
A stranger’s voice calls within
Beckoning my heart to sin
Whirling down to dark unknown
Face these demons all alone
Bind me up in strongest steel
For I no longer want to feel
Painful memories turn to pleasure
Inconsequential stolen treasure
On my knees to mock my sin
Let the holy storm begin
This bloody river speaks my name
Here is proof of all my shame
Pain that cut so sharp and deep
Was for a time so bittersweet
Laugh upon this metal grave
I was never meant to save
Silently I shout the names
Of our horrid, nasty games
