Metal on Metal

Sparks created

as swords meet

locked in

a never-ending battle

Spears go flying

through the air

bodies dropping

without a care

Shields blocking

wherever they can

but where they falter

the results are shocking

Arrows let loose

silent but deadly

stick out of dead bodies

like tokens of sacrifice

Swords gleam

in the dead of the night

waiting for the right time

to strike with all their might

Hammers forged

deep underground

breaking through armor

is a perilious sound

Axes slicing

through metal and skin alike

covered in blood

coming in for another strike

When an attack is parried

sounds of metal on metal are heard

and all that results

is a battlefield of death
