Skin on skin, mirrored with scars
Shadowed with an adrenaline rush
Somewhere between black and white
I’m pushed to the point of reciting
‘It’s the same as yesterday’
Beyond a night without sunlight
Where I’ve gone ‘round and ‘round
As the night closes in
And “distance” feels unreachable

I’ve never felt more empty
Than in the last twenty minutes
I don’t know if I should turn and run
Away from those pounding feet
Those undiscovered whispers
Or screeching fingers of steel

Everything feels so random
But I can still feel you breathing
On my skin, a secret I’ve kept hidden
Where there’s a millions reasons why
Time can’t take me back
To where innocence lingers
But I’ll wipe the tears from eyes
And I don’t mind if you notice
I’m beautifully broken beneath my skin
