Safehouse

Come away from that window, child.
Come away from the glass.
Nothing's out there that you need to see
nothing that ain't about to pass.

You sit. You stare. You worry
about storms to come and what to say
but ain't nothing out there that can come inside
Not tomorrow, not yesterday, and not today.

Come away from your sorrows, child.
And come away from that pain.
It won't go nowhere if you keep pickin' at it,
'cuz that just becomes an invite to stay.

So come sit with me. Smile with me.
Laugh and let that storm outside go.
'Cuz it's just only a little bit of rain, child
and that water will help your soul to grow.
