True Fame

One is an actor, the other a rock star, and the girl who’s a model will have to deal with the eight year old bet that will haunt their lives for the rest of their days – who can last being a virgin?

True Fame: Chapter One

“I bet, that niether of you will be a virgin when we graduate!!”

“Eh?? But we’re only in eighth grade!!”

“He doesn’t mean that, stupid! He means when we become rich and famous!”

“Hmm…Well I’m not doing it ‘till I get married!”

“Okay! Fine, let’s make a bet of how long all of us can ‘resist temptation’ until marriage!”

“You’re on! Come on, let’s drink to it!”

Kampai!”

“Freaking Japanese.”

Eight Years Later…

The three have tried as hard as they could to stand together, but thanks to a misunderstanding in Twelfth grade, one of the three was casted away from the group.

Then, two years later, the last two finally separated because of career change and never bothered to keep communication.

The three were now officially separated.

But the bet still burns in their heart to this very day.

Alice Plum – 20

“Alice Plum to make up!!”

“Aah! Why didn’t anyone wake me up sooner?!”

Her name was Alice Plum.

She was by far one of the most famous models in the state of California. She had a slender body with soft eyes and a petite mouth. Her hair was to her shoulders, its’ soft thin hair bound into two low pigtails, showing off her neck. She had on a pink flurry bathrobe and pink slippers to match.

Alice first entered as a clothing model but quickly caught on as she went on to lower jobs which, by well means, caught the eyes of George Maxell, the single heterosexual male clothing designer. Owner to the popular store, “Clothing to the Maxell” this man has created Mary Plum into a thing of beauty, grace, and popular beyond demands.

“Alice!! Darling, what took you so long?” Maxell shouted, he picked at Alice’s cheek with his long, ebony fingers.

Alice winced and quickly snapped away from the man’s oily fingers. Rubbing her cheek, Alice quickly replied,

“I’m sorry Maxell sir-“

“Please darling, I told you a dozen times! It’s George.” He smiled, his teeth straightly aligned with the illumination of pearls.

Alice felt a shiver.

“Aah…sure.”

George crinkled his eyes.

“Now darling, get to makeup! We don’t have much time!! I have scheduled you for an interview at five ‘o clock sharp! Chop chop!”

Maxell quickly shoved Alice into the stale green dressing room. The pearl vanity stood to the side, its silver linings glittered in the light. To the right were various clothing, much included sea wear. Also inside was a point nose lady, her head up and hair down.

Alice stumbled in as Maxell slammed the door shut. Before the girl could protest, the woman strapped Alice to the chair and rubbed the scented oil in her hands.

“M-Miss Davis, could you please…ease up on the powder today?” Alice winced.

However she was silenced as a generous amount of cotton was puffed against her face, suffocating Alice for a brief second.

“No, no.” Miss Davis replied, “Must have more powder, covers mess.”

And Alice could only cough more as the powder suffocated her from air. She gaped as she fingered an earring that lay on a chain around her neck.

James Dean – 21

“Look, I don’t know what happened last night! But wishing it never happened won’t change a thing!”

“That’s bull! And this was all for a bet?! Screw you, Jacob! Screw you!”

“Marlene…”

“And…Cut!! Well done everyone!”

His name was Jacob Dean.

He was one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. He was handsome, with a strong cheekbone and straight shoulders. His eyes were soft and his hair was cut short and gelled to the side.

He first made his appearance in a modeling job with the famous Alice Plum. It wasn’t until he was pulled out and moved to Hollywood that he starred in his first film – “The Birth of Death.” He has been living there for six years now, not having any contact with his former modeling partner.

James licked his lips and smiled politely as the actress in front of him started to giggle and sigh in relief. He was dressed in nothing but jeans, since the scene did require him to do so.

“I was so nervous!” the girl sighed and she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I mean, to be working with the James Dean!”

James swooped a cup of water from the food boy and sipped it.

“I’m nothing good, really.” James answered, he smiled again before throwing the paper cup into a near by trash can.

Walking away, James strode to the camera man. He had a backwards cap on with square glasses, his beer belly plopping out of his stomach making his jeans’ fly slowly unzip. The man looked up and waved at James, who raised his hand in return.

“James my boy!”

“Hello Arnie.” James answered and he leaned his hand on Arnie’s chair, looking over to the screen next to him.

“How did it turn out?” James asked.

“Wonderful as always.” Arnie replied.

“Hah, I hope so. I’m not used to working with big directors like these.” James said, he nudged his hand towards the stiff man with his ragged grey shirt and jeans. He had his legs spread on the director’s chair and he wore no shoes. He feet were pink at the tips and were grey with dust underneath.

Arnie gave out a jolly laugh.

“Yeah, don’t knock him, though. He may look insano in the dead but he got some big ideas brewing in there. As for you! Why, you must be the youngest well known actor! Or not. Well one of them anyways.” Arnie said and he followed up with another laugh.

James joined in this time, giving Arnie a pat on the back.

“Yeah, he got me some spot on a guest show. I should be grateful.” James said sincerely.

“James Dean! You’re needed on set three!!”

James looked up and casually started to walk away from Arnie.

“Get my good side, Arnie.” James requested.

“Don’t I always?” Arnie replied.

James gave out a laugh and cracked his neck before standing in front of his supporting character. He gave out a sigh and then flicked his earring that was poised on his right ear.

“And…ACTION!!”

“Marlene, I have to tell you something…”

Kai Kawasaki - 21

“Sonova bitch!!”

His name was Kai Kawasaki.

“Dude, chill out Kai!! It was a stupid earring anyways! Damn, I never thought you would be in a prissy fit over something like that.”

He was one of the biggest in indie rock. He had hair that was dyed at least ten times and reached to half of his face. It was layered randomly which gave the effect that his hair was thick. He didn’t have a muscular body, but was considered popular among the female crowd anyways. His eyes were hard with heavy eye liner and makeup.

His band – “SLANT” with him as singer/guitarist, his friends Eric Deep as Bass and Jimmy Long as drums, began during his sophomore year and had gradually risen up enough to play on the well known indie rock channels.

Kai slicked his hand through his air. His black painted nails digging in his skull.

“Shit man, you look bad.” Eric commented, he leaned on his chair while tuning his bass guitar. He had sandy hair that covered half his face and was dressed in a green “Get Lucky!” shirt and runned down jeans with sandals.

“Yeah, take a chill pill.” Jimmy agreed and his picked up his drum sticks from his back pocket. He had a bald head with the prickly hair slowly growing back. His paints were slacked beneath his butt and he had a white long sleeved under a black tee.

“Screw you!” Kai yelled. He shuffled, he had on black tight pants and converses, and his black tee with the band’s logo on it was cut at the sleeves and was tight around his chest. He had on a big, grey puffy jacket which went down to his but.

“What’s the big deal?” Eric asked, “Hell, we got enough money to buy an equally nice one.”

“NOT.” Jimmy yelled and he drummed the famous beat:

BAH DUM BUM KISH.

Jimmy then leaned over his set to high five Eric who laughed in return.

“It’s not about that!” Kai yelled and he stuck a cigarette in his mouth and dug into his pockets. “Shit, anyone got a light?”

Eric reached over to the red dresser, dug into the upper shelf, and threw Kai a plastic orange lighter. Kai caught it and quickly lit his cigarette before taking in a huge suck and letting out a cloud of smoke.

“That earring was special,” Kai began and he inhaled another.

“First loooove?” Jimmy cooed and he smacked his drum set.

“Nah, it’s some gay promise thing my old group gave me.” Kai said and he leaned against the red dresser.

“Old group?” Eric questioned, “Weren’t they the one who went behind your back?”

Kai snapped his cigarette in half before stabbing it into a sandwich.

“Yeah, those bastards.” Kai replied.

“Then why should you even find that earring?!” Jimmy yelled.

Kai looked down at the ground and cocked his head as he saw something glistening against the wall. Sighing, Kai walked over and picked up the faint small hoop earring then clipping it in his lower lip.

“Sure as hell ain’t sentimental. But it’s pride.” Kai said.

“’Pride?’ What for?” Eric asked.

“A bet. I promised those two sonovas’ that I wouldn’t…”

Eric and Jimmy leaned in.

Kai looked up.

“Hey its 3:45, shouldn’t we go to that one guest crap place?” Kai asked.

Jimmy gaped and fell over his drum set while Eric sighed and tuned his bass guitar.

“If you didn’t want to tell you could’ve just said so…” Eric muttered.

Kai shrugged and went over to the middle of the room before jumping up and pulling down a string.

Suddenly the room was drawn into light as the garage opened.

“We’re supposed to play, right? I mean, I first gig in a while.” Jimmy said, picking himself up.

“Yeah, at least we’ll be on T.V. this time. “ Eric said and walked outside.

Kai didn’t respond and licked his earring that was locked on to his lower lip.

If Eric and Jimmy knew he was still a virgin there would be hell to pay.

True Fame: Chapter One end.

IceBitten: I had this idea for a while now; I guess I’ll do this instead of “Loves Me Not.”

I really, really enjoyed writing Kai’s part of the story. He’s such a cool character based off guys from school.

I know Alice’s was a bit short compared to James’ and Kais’ but honestly, there wasn’t much to say since she was the first introduced. I had to fine a way so that as the three of them were presented, that their history would slowly come out and tie in to the waaay beginning of this.

Critics are welcomed and so are comments. 3
