You're not holding me right

your arms don't fit me anymore

I try a smile but my courage fails,

my mouth twisting into tears

I still love you

-

We used to laugh in champagne kisses

stolen secrets in the middle of the night

but now we avoid gazes lost

and cry ourselves to sleep

And it's over

-

Messages print into my mind

sepia tone negatives of glazed bright lips

Words you told me, were they lies?

I crush the notes then iron them smooth

You said you loved me.

AN: feeling sorry for myself. -sob-
