AN: Hey, long time no see. Talking of seeing, see what you think of this. Don’t really like it myself.
Dull Flash of Metal
Dull flash of metal
Of the gun
In her hand
That hand
Innocent hand
It stroked the head of a passing dog
Not long ago
You could almost see that hand
Washing a graze on a child’s knee
Or making a cup of coffee for herself
Maybe writing, scratching unknowing
At an itchy nose
The dull flash of silver
Is not nearly as impressive
As the look in her eyes
Those eyes
Beautiful eyes
Eyes that were carefully concentrating
On her crime fiction, yesterday
You can know that she would
Cry when she watched a sad war movie
And that she would lust after a new rock star
She would laugh with her eyes when told a joke
That gun, dull flashing metal,
Is not as bright, as fierce
As the fear, and anger in her heart
Her heart
Sweet loving heart
Poisoned now with the filthy venom
Unleashed by a callous society
I’m sure you can see her heart now
Pulsing with adrenaline, aching with pain
Where rage-fuelled sadness pulses all through her
And a disturbing emptiness at the very centre of being
Did you know?
You caused that;
Those pale hands, wrapped around the barrel
Those eyes, varnished with an unseeing gaze
That heart, deteriorating beneath a guilty fury
And the gun flashed again and again
Until the light died;
And the gun was silent.
May blessings follow in your footsteps,
Ethereal Kisses
