Scrapbook of Time
Laughter
Like an unseen wind
Through wind chimes
On an abandoned porch
------------------------
I hear the sound
As tears form in my heart
At the passing of old times
Into new
---------------------
Once nothing had to have meaning
A child's sweet innocence
Seeing the world as they want to
Not as it really is
--------------------
No reality
No today
----------------
Looking back
Times of long ago
Locked within my memories
A scrapbook of time
With snapshots of bliss
Only a child
Understands
------------------
My mind pleads to remember
To grasp shards of childhood
Before they slip through my fingers
And disappear
Forever
