War-Torn World
A war-torn world makes one to be alone,
Whether family was killed, taken, or left,
While the leader of war sits on their throne
And their country is left to deal with death.
Air raids by Nazis left death in their stead
Homes were reduced to piles of rubble,
Some life was held onto by a mere thread
All because an idea gave some trouble
But the battle has long since been over,
The Allies have long since won the battle,
Men crowd hospitals like fields of clover
Herded there by nurses much like cattle.
No longer are young, youthful, filled with mirth,
Their faces left blank as death on the hearth.
