These blue eyes have turned to gray,
Watching as summer slowly fades away

In this world of winter with me please stay

In my mind I am defined by a fine line Built up of truth and lies

Living with the morality of what's wrong and what's right

Outside I'm as quiet as an ocean

But on the inside I'm a radical emotion

So can't you see why I kill the spiders to save the butterflies?

The world isn't always black and white,
Sometimes it's just a blur of gray,
I'm not the kid you used to know, living in a world of wonder and play

I know I wasn't meant to grow up so fast,
But desperate times call for desperate measures,
And your mistake was made to last

You left me here with no one to lean on,
And I was the one to pick up the pieces,

You only saw your pain, your hopeless disdain

I was left in this bitter world of cold,
Only to help the young grow old,
So can you really blame me for killing the spiders to save the butterflies?
