The grass between my toes,

the dying sum against my hair,

I watch God's hand paint

in pinks and golds.

The roses in my hand pricks

my skin, walking toward my

immediate sorrow

of natural wonder.

On my knees I pray to thee

to love beyond bounds

to care without cause

to weep without words.

My head hits the ground

watering your grave

with my tears, covering

you with petals of red.
