The Day May Break
Have you ever thought a heart could die
While soaring pon an eagle’s cry,
Downy feathers; golden gray
Rise and fall by winds of May,
Cherished memories, all fallen dim
Driven off by thoughts so grim.
The daisy flounders neath torrential rains
Heart beats flutter when twisted with strains,
A sun rise falters in the midst of dark
The moonlight fails to inflame the stark,
Somewhere, somehow, a rustic dawn breaks
Sweeping away shadows Mother Nature never makes.
Maybe clouds are of a human sin
That keeps brilliance out and obscurity in,
When we reap the things our neighbors sow
And bask in all our bodily woes,
The path may be scattered, enshrouded in fear
Yet the phoenix still rises, in spite of its tears.
