This is a nation afraid of silence

(We've got ipods, mp3s, cell phones and cds)

We're so connected we've lost connection

(We'd get five bars even if we were on mars,

but can anyone remember talking face to face?)

-----------

In fear of silence we've turned to violence

(We all got gamecube, playstation, xbox, and DS)

With all of our stuff we're sending silent signals of distress

Though we get more and more and more to cram

Into full(empty) houses, making happiness just a sham

(We're all so afraid,

but we keep pretending we've got it made)
