Alice, baby I remember you

Your hair blonde like a porn star’s

Your lips pouting bright and red

Covered in that lipstick that made me gag

But these don’t change the fact

We had some good times together

Holding hands and spitting blood

Convenience stores with your larcenous hands

Alice, you made me laugh

O Alice you were horrible in all the good ways

I never loved you

Because I couldn’t

And you would never let anyone get close to you

Alice, standing there with your pink boa

Dancing to those jazz records on your old phonograph

When I’d come over you would grab me and kiss me

Laughing for all those little tablets that were brighter than your clothes

You would only wear the clothes of those that had died

Taking them to possible old haunts and new locations

Alice, you never seemed to eat much

Your ribs poking through, your breasts shrinking

But still you moved lighter than air though you were always tired

Drinking coffee, green tea and chain smoking

Alice, the night drew you out

You, pale beauty, you

You never seemed to want to stop

So, you would constantly move

From one place to another

Alice, where have you gone?
